Frequently asked questions

Q. Do you require insurance?

A. We do not require insurance for small rentals with a replacement value of $5,000 or less. If the replacement cost of all the equipment that you rent is over $5,000, please get insurance. Click on the PDF below for a small list of companies that specialize in production insurance.

 

Q. Do you have a student discount?

A. Yes, we offer a 10% discount to students with a valid Student ID. We also do not charge an insurance waiver fee for productions or schools that do not carry insurance which is basically an additional 30% discount when comparing our quotes to other companies.

Q. Do you have weekend rates?

A. Yes. We only charge one day for a Saturday and Sunday shoot, with free pick up on Friday and free return on Monday.

Q. If I'm the one paying for the rental can I send another driver to pick up the equipment or do I need to be there?

A. You can send anyone you'd like to pick up the equipment. We just ask that you send in all your paperwork ahead of time.

Q. What happens if I damage something? 

A. At CypherBlu we believe in treating people with fairness and respect. All of our crew members understand what it's like to work on set and things happen.

If our equipment gets damaged we will do our best to point it out during the return. If you're in a hurry and you just need to drop off the gear and go we'll send a picture of the damaged equipment. We will also set anything that needs to be repaired off to the side and allow you the chance to come see it in person.  Once you've had a chance to review the damages we will send you an invoice asking you to reimburse us for the cost of the repair. If the equipment is beyond repair we will give you the damage equipment to keep (or we can throw it away) and we will send an invoice for the replacement cost. If it's possible for us to send a link or give you a copy of the receipt for replacement or repairs we will attach it to the invoice.

Q. What happens if I lose something?

A. At CypherBlu we believe in treating people with fairness and respect. All CypherBlu Associates know what it's like to work on set, and we understand that things happen.

If you or someone on your crew looses something we will gladly give you a week to find it. If you can't find the missing equipment we will send an invoice asking for the replacement cost of the item along with a link to the purchase price.

If you pay the replacement cost and actually end up finding the missing equipment and return it we will reimburse you.
