Submission Criteria:
Applicants may submit any genre of narrative short films as well as documentaries. No music videos or commercial content will be accepted. We accept YouTube or Vimeo links with the content in English or with subtitles burned in.

Submission Fee:
$25 Standard Deadline

Copyright and Permissions:
Filmmakers must ensure they have obtained all necessary rights and permissions for the content featured in their films, including music, images, and any copyrighted material.

Originality:
Films should be original works created by the submitting filmmaker(s). Plagiarism or unauthorized use of others' work is prohibited.

Premiere Status:
There are no premiere status limitations. If your project has been shown at other film festivals we will still accept your submission.

Format and Technical Requirements:
Films links must be submitted in HD, with Stereo audio. The link must be private or unlisted with no password needed. No less than 2 minutes and no more than 8 minutes long including credits. There is no limit on what year the film was produced.

Submission Deadline:
Our standard deadline is April 30, 2024 by midnight. No submissions will be accepted after April 30, 2024.

Language and Subtitles:
Films in languages other than English will need to be subtitled in English.

Selection Process:
We have a selection committee that will review all submitted films. Only the top 15 finalists will be screened at the festival June 8, 2024, and those will be reviewed by our renowned guest judges. Awards will be determined by those judges, and the audience award will be voted on by all festival attendees. 

Screening Rights:
If your film is chosen as a finalist, you are authorizing CypherBlu to screen your film at the festival on June 8, 2024. If you would prefer not to have your film screened, you must submit a signed document stating otherwise.

Promotional Materials:
The CypherBlu Film Festival may request promotional materials such as stills, posters and filmmaker bios for use in marketing and promotion.

Attendance:

While not required, filmmakers are encouraged to attend the festival. Filmmakers must however provide their own transportation and accommodations for both the festival and for Award Winners' studio shoots.
